What is the length of the program?
Class A: Approximately 3-4 weeks (including classroom and hands-on training, with a gap for testing)
Class B: Approximately 2-3 weeks (including classroom and hands-on training, with a gap for testing) Passenger Endorsement Training: Same as Class B schedule, training in a bus What are the financing options other than self-pay?
Options include grants such as WIOA, KY or IN Vocational Rehab, VA Vocational Rehab, NAET, and KY Farmworkers. Financing through CDL Advantage is also available.
Do I have to drive over the road?
We work with several companies that offer local or regional opportunities. Home nightly drop and hook opportunities become more available with at least 6 months of experience. Fuel truck driving is also a common exception.
If I have a permit, why do I still have to take the classroom section?
The new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) rules require all CDL training to go through an EDLT certified program, including the classroom. Exceptions may apply if you can prove previous EDLT-certified training.
What if i had a cdl before, but let it go?
Refresher courses may be available for individuals who currently have or have had a CDL in the past. Qualifications for refresher courses can be discussed with a company representative.
What if i already have a valid physical?
If you have a current valid DOT Physical, you can supply your own and not be charged for it. Clear copies of the certificate and long form are required.
What type of vehicle will i be training in?
For Class A training, you will learn to drive a semi tractor-trailer with your choice of manual or automatic transmission. Class B training vehicles include buses (automatic) or manual/automatic trucks, depending on your preference.
WHat is the difference between a class "A" and "b" license?
Class A is for tractor-trailers and large trailers, while Class B is for concrete trucks, dump trucks, buses, and some straight trucks.
What are the school hours?
Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:15 pm.
Will I be able to find a job if I have something on my record?
Employment opportunities vary based on the specific circumstances. Our admission specialists can provide more information and guidance on finding suitable employment.
